Professional Experience - Asterfel

I am currently working as a freelancer for Mysteria Studio UG. We are developing Asterfel, an open world third-person action-RPG developed with visual scripting in Unreal Engine 5

  • My primary contributions are:

    • Refined gameplay and 3C

    • Redesigned and improved AI with behavior trees

    • Implemented tools and features for narrative, game, and sound designers

    • Performance profiled with Unreal Insights and optimized performance

School Projects

I have an education in game programming that I took at The Game Assembly in Malmö, Sweden. At TGA we spent about half our time on individual courses and half our time on developing games in groups of 12-20 students.

Specialization - Gunplay

  • Included in my specialization project are:

    • Different guns, such as a shotgun, a sniper rifle, and a rev-up minigun.

    • Hybrid recoil system: spread inaccuracy when hip-firing and camera shake when aiming.

    • Interaction between player movement and weapons.

    • A shooting range created in Unreal Engine and exported to a custom engine.

Projects

  • During my time in The Game Assembly I have participated in seven group projects, and will be working on my last project from April to June. These games are made together with other programmers, artists, animators, and technical artists.

  • The group projects are my favorite part of my education! I love getting to develop games while contributing with meaningful work to my team.
